Dates: July 30-31, 2007
Dates: August 1-10, 2007
At: National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
There are no prerequisites for participating in the summer school. We will make extensive use of www.nanohub.org, and so all participants are asked to create a free nanohub account before arriving at Illinois. Also, on Wednesday morning, all participants will be invited to give a brief introduction to their research and expectations for the summer school.
The easiest way to travel to the University of Illinois is to fly in to Williard Airport (CMI). See the University's directions to campus for more information on traveling to Urbana/Champaign. Most local hotels supply pre-arranged shuttle service to the airport, or there are rental cars or taxis available. Here are specific directions to the NCSA building, where all events will be held.
Participants of the summer school are welcome to arrange a ride from the airport to the residence hall by contacting Dave Mattson at dmattson@uiuc.edu, (217) 244-8362.
Summer School Participants will by housed 2 to a room at Hendrick House on the University Campus. There is available, more information about the rooms and what is provided for summer guests. Hendrick House is located 3 blocks from the NCSA building so it is expected that participants will be able to walk. If this is not a possibility, please contact Dave to make other arrangements.
For summer school participants, breakfast will be provided at Hendrick House, lunch and coffee breaks will be provided at NCSA, and dinners will be on your own. A map with area restaurants will be provided upon your arrival.
Weekend meals other than Saturday breakfast and lunch will be on your own as well.
For those summer school participants receiving stipends, there will be paperwork to fill out within the first few days after your arrival. For non U.S. citizens, please bring along all your visa paperwork - as we will need copies of certain items. A full list of paperwork needs based on visa type will be posted here in the next day or two.
We will do our best to process the stipends as quickly as possible, but please be aware that, unfortunately, you may not receive your check during the summer school.
For more information, please contact Dave Mattson at dmattson@uiuc.edu, (217) 244-8362.
